After years of dedicated scientific research work, a formulation and process for cost-effectively extruding polyvinyl alcohol into a strong film through blown film extrusion has been developed. The advantages of this novel PVA include high film strength by comparison with existing PVA and with polyethylene. It can be produced and converted on conventional plastics equipment and is also printable without the need for modification. The films are water-soluble, biodegradable and compostable. The water solubility can be tailored to meet the requirements of the applications, varying from cold water soluble to hot water soluble. We can ensure a reliable supply of high quality PVA from the basic resin to the end product. Our PVA film can be developed to a thickness of between 15-90 microns and can be used for various applications including detergent packaging, embroidery backing, unit packaging and agricultural use.
