• About Us : The main sphere of Promfiltr Ltd activity is scientific research and production of different kinds of industrial filters for metalworking industry. Promfiltr Ltd produce Woven Fiberglass Filter, made of silicon fiberglass "KS-11-LA", which rigidness is obtained by special weaving of silicon fibre (NOT BY THE COATING). Further woven fiberglass is impregnated with special substance to get required properties - ensuring the short-term heat resistance in liquid metals up to 1700 C. That allows to use our filters for filtering molten metals instead of ceramic foam filters, which are more expencive. The surface density is 450 - 500 g/m2. Filters are made with two types of cells:1,5x1,5 mm; 2,0x2,0 mm. According to the customers desire they can be delivered in the roles of 0,8 M width and up to 50 M length. They can also be delivered ready-made for the placement directly in the mould with dimensions in any range from 50 mm to 300 mm in form of square or rectangular. USAGE: Filtering elements can be placed both under the riser and the gating. To exclude sagging and as well as tearing of filtering elements while casting into molds having capacity more than 100 KG it is recommended to use filtering elements in the form of rectangular with the sides proportion 2/1 instead of squares and to use small supporting platform in the Central part of the bottom metal receivers. The best effect of high silicon fiberglass Filters usage is reached while locating of a brake gating with a throttle between the Filter and the casting. It is also possible to place the Filter in the centrifugal slag catcher over the mould split. Vertical (horizontal) placing of filtering elements is possible while casting non-ferrous metals in metallic moulds. ADVANTAGES: 1. The structural silicon fibres of our filters are not glued one to another, they are weaved to reach the filter's rigidness. 2. The weaving has allowed us not to use toxic and gas forming components for our Filters coating (phenolformaldehyde and organic cohesives). 3. Possibility for use of several components for coating, that helps to modify the structure and other properties of metallic mould and also insures refinable, additional graphitizing (for irons), modificatory effects. 4. High heat resistance - up to 1700 deg. C.
