Polysindo eka perkasa The group flagship company, p. T. Polysindo, is the largest polyester textile manufacturer in indonesia. The company, which currently produces polymer chips, fibre, filament yarn and fabrics, had significantly expanded capacities and backward integrated into the production of purified terephthalic acid(pta), the primary raw material in the manufacture of polyester. As a result, p. T. Polysindo has further strengthened its number one position in indonesia and is now one of the largest polyester fibre and filament yarn manufacturers in the world. Polysindo and the larger texmaco group has annual capacities of 365,000 tons of pta,330,000 tonnes of polymer chips,187,000 tonnes of staple fibre and 200,000 tonnes of filament yarn. New directions Leveraging its existing business base in engineering, the group is also expanding into the manufacture of value-added engineering goods such as construction equipment, automotive components, machine tolls, engines, axles and gears. A 600 hectare site in java will house the group s rolling mill, forging and casting operations and plants for the manufacture of trucks, automotive components and heavy equipment. Also in the works is a specially steel plant will supply raw material for texmaco s engineering, automotive components and heavy equipment manufacturing operations. Additionally the group is planning to set up a dissolving pulp and rayon fibre plant that will lend flexibility and add value to its existing polyester operations.
