Touchwood was founded in Sri Lanka by Group Chairman, Roscoe A. Maloney in 1999. Looking to combat the rapid deforestation of old-growth forests, Mr. Maloney realized the potential for commercial value in planting trees that could be sold for a high rate of return and offered as a stable investment. Shortly after opening our doors, we received approval from the Board of Investments to plant 2, 000 acres of mahogany trees over a 20-year time period. Following an aggressive marketing of the product to clients both domestic and abroad, the idea was warmly embraced. In just five short years, we were able to expand our operations to Dubai, Hong Kong and Thailand</p>
