- About Us : Al Balha Trading & Marketing Company formerly Al Balha Trading & Marketing Est. (Al Balha) it was founded in 1979 in both Eastern and Central Provinces of Saudi Arabia. Al Balha started its activities in trading and haulage of cement by road for both bagged and bulk cement whereby it served all local and international contractors who participated in building of the major Saudi infrastructure projects that AL BALHA TRADING & MARKETING CO.re executed in the late 70’s and 80’s. Al Balha has evolved and diversified its activities and is now involved in various activities as described here below: Cement Distribution: Al Balha is now considered as one of the major distributors of cement in bag and in bulk for many of the existing cement manufacturers of cement in Saudi Arabia. Al Balha is an authorized distributor for the following Saudi procedures of cement: A) Saudi Cement Company (Ain Dar and Hufof Plant) – (Eastern Area) B) Yamama Cement Company in Riyadh (Cement Area) C) Eastern Province Cement Company (Eastern Area) D) Yanbu Cement Company (Western Area) E) City Cement Company (Central Area) F) Riyadh Cement Company (Central Area) G) Najran Cement Company (Southern Area) H) Saudi White Cement Company (Central Area) I) Qatari Saudi Co. for Industrial Transformation (Qatar) The total average lifting of cement from all the cement plants above are in the range of 2.2 to 3.0 Million Tons per year. Cement Transport by Road and Rail: Al Balha distributes cement to Ready Mix Plants, Block Factories, Tile Factories, Pre-cast Plants, Contractors and end users either by selling it ex-works of the cement manufacturer or ex-terminal at Riyadh or delivered to customers’ sites and locations. Al Balha owns and operates a fleet of bulk tankers, flat beds and cement silos mounted on railway wagons, and uses all such means of transport to deliver cement in bag and bulk to its customers all over the Kingdom of Saudia Arabia. The current fleet of Al Balha as follows: a) 110 Units of Tractor Head with cement trailer with the capacity of 25-35 Tons. b) 50 Flat Beds of 25-30 tons capacity each. c) 125 Cement Wagons with an average capacity of 40 tons mounted on Railway Engine. Note: Railway Engine Tractors owned by Saudi Railway Organization but the Wagons owned by Al Balha. Shipping Activities: In order to be able to serve its customers all over the Gulf region and in anticipation of future exports from Saudi Arabia to Kuwait, Iraq etc….by sea, Al Balha has entered into the shipping business and currently owns two (2) bulk cement carriers, of 16, 000 tons and 7, 000 tons capacity respectively. Both ships are transporting about 300, 000MT to 500, 000MT (Cement, Clinker and Gabbro). Al Balha charters other ships when the necessity arises. In order to able to unload these ships at destination ports Al Balha owns 3 Ship Unloaders that could bulk cement at the rate of 200 tons per hours, 350 tons per hours, and 550 tons per hours respectively. Offices Outside Saudi Arabia: A. Qatar Beginning of 2009 we established office in Qatar to manage and handle the shipping activities of our vessels. The vessel’s capacity is 7, 000MT, bulk carrier, and the name of the vessel is M/V Star-1. B. Bahrain Opened office in Bahrain to manage and handle the shipping activities of the vessel and other matters. And there will be planned to put also a cement depot in Bahrain in the future to serve our clients in Bahrain. The vessel’s is 3, 000MT capacity bulk carrier (M/V Qatar Sadoq-2). Terminals Operations: In order to able to serve its clients in Saudi Arabia, GCC countries and Iraq Al Balha owns and operates the following in land and area shore terminals: A) In land Terminal at Riyadh with silo seven (7) with storage minimum capacity of 7, 400 tons of bulk cement whereby cement can be dispatched in bulk as well as in bags (thru 3 bagging machines for a total bagging capacity of 30, 000 bags per day in two (2) shifting operations. The Terminal is fully integrated one equipped with a captive power plant, unloading equipment from Railway Wagons into the cement storage silos, bulk dispatch and bag dispatch. B) Qatar Terminal at Mesaieed, Qatar with silo storage facility of 10, 000 tons of bulk cement. C) Sea-Shore Terminal at Ras Al Khaimah with (4) silo storage capacities of around 20, 000 tons in total. D) Sea-Shore Terminal at Abdullah Port in Kuwait with silo storage capacity of 6, 500 tons of bulk cement. All terminals are fully integrated ones that are equipped to dispatch cement in bulk and in bags. Other Activities: Other than all the above major activities, Al Balha is also engaged in import activities for White & Grey Clinker, Micro-silica, Flay Ash, OWC Class “G†(HSR) Well Cement and Ground Granulated Blast Furnish Slag (GGBFS). Management and Staff: Al Balha is managed by a very experienced team headed by one of its owners, Engineer Salah Salhab, and by the undersigned that have been in the business since inception of operations in 1979. The number of Al Balha staff members reached to more than 360 employees of about 10 different nationalities. Al Balha team is a very coherent team working together for the achievement of the establishment’s high goals.</p>
