In 2005 Arabia Taxi was awarded a franchise to operate 500 taxis in Dubai. The company began setting up its operations in April 2005 and launched its services in July 2005 with 50 vehicles. The initial success of the franchise allowed Arabia to increase the size of the fleet to 500 vehicles by the end of 2005. Additional 271 taxis awarded in the year 2007. The experience and reputation that Arabia Taxi was able to rapidly develop its operation facilitated a project in another Emirate. In 2006 Arabia Taxi was awarded a franchise from Ajman Public Transport Corporation to operate 400 public hire cars in the Emirate of Ajman and 1021 taxis in the emirate of Abu Dhabi. The service was launched in that same year and continuous to build strength. Arabia ensures that strict quality control procedures are maintained for all its fleet and implements best practice in all its operations. The company has also invested and developed its own maintenance facilities covering minor and major services as well as body and paintwork. In a span of 18 months Arabia Taxi has successfully developed taxi operations in two markets and currently employs 1,200 experienced drivers & staff.
