<br/>Bhushan Steel was founded in 1987 by entrepreneur Brij Bhushan Singhal. Valued at USD 2 Billion, Bhushan Steel's sales betBbhushan steel limiteden 2007 and 2011 grew at a compounded pace of 17 per cent. Operating profits grew at double that pace. The company has been among the best performers in the steel space in terms of executing its expansion plans. Also, its EV/tonne premium over peers has rested on its superior product mix and higher realizations.
<br/>Gross sales of Bhushan Steel grew from Rs. 500 crore in 2001 to Rs. 4000 crore in 2007. It earned net profits of Rs. 313 crore in 2007 and exported goods worth Rs. 1,257 crore. Its exports include steel for both the automotive and white goods industry and the list of countries it is exporting to includes several developed countries

<br/>The company has major expansion plans in Meramandali, Orissa directed towards backward integration. The company plans to up its steel-making capacity from the current 2.3 million tonnes to 6 million tonnes through the expansion. Currently, utilization rate on the 3 million tonnes steel plant is at around 70 per cent.
