We do not require Literature or Philosophy or General Education courses. We are only about Wine. California Wine University was founded in the spirit of lending a hand to the struggling vintner and vineyard owner and guiding them toward a better tomorrow. Our enormously popular volunteer program and our hands-on teaching program both embody and keep that spirit very much alive. Our Hands On Vine Network provides such socially disadvantaged vintners and farmers, as well as beginning vintners and farmers, with outreach, technical assistance, training, and educational services. We are committed to providing them with education, innovation and advocacy so that they can remain economically viable, feasible and competitive, especially in this challenging economy. Which is why our motto is: Education. Innovation. Advocacy.
