She has won best of show at the famous Sonoma County Harvest fair with her deerskin vests and wall mount masks, in Sonoma county, Ca.The Shields: The Sundance Way is the way of peace developed by the plains Indians of North America. It was formed to give peace throughout the nation, among the tribes. Once a year the different tribes would gather together to make peace among them. These peace teachers or elders would use different shields and medicine wheels they created as the basis of the parable stories they would share. The shields we also used and created by the chief's to explain the progress or the changes in a person's inner being. At a certain time in life a person would be requested to go on a vision quest. Upon thier return that person would explain the things spiritually and physically that had taken place to the Elders. they would discern the vision quest, and would create a shield representing that perosn's quest. Everything on a shield has truth and value, each color, fur , feather, shell, bead; every placement of ornamentation is of worth to express the innner man, within each person. the shield was displayed for all to see allowing the people to see and learn from them. Theses shields and designs are created with these objectives in mond and are for the pleasure and knowledge of one's inner self.
