George Chao, with his background in ground and polishing prescription lenses, was the first person in Taiwan to manufacture reading glasses. Through out the '80 and '90, Contour continue to expand its production lines from reading glasses, sunglasses to high-end prescription frames. The invention of magnetic clipons in 1994 was one of the most important inventions in the eyewear industry in the past decade.
