- About Us : DAXTOR was created on the basis of a bright idea. In 2001 Torben Dahl saw the light during a major renovation of his home. He thought that electricians took far too long installing down lights, and the safety aspect was less than perfect. There had to be a better way of doing things. Torben Dahl DAXTOR ApSnt to work inventing and constructing a unique housing for down lights. His invention would ensure that it would no longer be necessary to work in direct contact with insulating materials and dirt. Furthermore, it would allow mounting the lights from below, thereby reducing the increase in temperature affecting the surrounding materials and eliminating a thermal bridge during installation.The next step was designing and constructing prototypes in various materials. The first models were made from plastic drainpipes. The piping was cut and glued together in varying dimensions, mounted in a test ceiling and temperature development was closely monitored. However, funds were too low for further development of the product. A complete business plan was drawn up and presented to Danish Innovation Mid-West. The concept was well received and Innovation Mid-West decided to support the project with venture capital. Innovation Mid-West is an establishment under the Danish Ministry of Science. DAXTOR was subsequently established as a company in September 2003.At the outset, not many believed in the project, but following introduction to the Danish market, wholesale traders have been very enthusiastic about the product.Torben Dahl bought out Innovation Mid-West in June 2007 and today DAXTOR is 100% owned by Torben Dahl.DAXTOR is a rapidly growing company in constant development. A financially healthy company, it has positive capital and reserves, and is self-financing.DAXTOR is the market leader in Denmark in sales of fire inhibiting housing for down lights branded as Easy 2-light. The latest product from Daxtor is the small 67mm. housing Easy Up. All products from DAXTOR are patented or Patent Pending.DAXTOR delivers quality products of a very high standard and all the housings Easy 2-Light and Easy UP have undergone tests at ETL SEMKO. The products are tested using Statement of Test Result, which enables adding further requirements and testing beyond the standard level, e.g. conducting the filament test at 960 degree Celsius. Complaints concerning our products Easy 2-Light are at 0,00028% - very satisfactory considering this includes damage during transportation from us to end user. DAXTOR has only 6 employees in Denmark. DAXTOR has chosen to outsource all production and packaging tasks.DAXTOR is thereby able to increase its production capacity considerably with very short notice.DAXTOR focuses on strict planning regarding purchasing and stock control. It is quite a challenge controlling the purchasing 100% due to the massive increase in turnover. This means that in some instances we have chosen a more expensive transportation solution in order to meet our own goal for delivery just in time.DAXTOR always carries a large stock of finished goods in Denmark and Lithuania to ensure day to day delivery. In Denmark all orders given before 11.30 am. are shipped the same day. DAXTOR is constantly developing new products, never copying other manufacturers - who says they get it right anyway? Within the EU Denmark and Germany are the countries with the strictest regulations concerning construction of new buildings. A new building regulative was introduced in Denmark on the 1st of January 2006, bringing with it a test for 10% airtightness of all new build houses. The test is known as the Blower Door Test and DAXTOR products are developed to meet the entire regulation in Scandinavian and the European market.
