- About Us : 1. FAK has been in business since 1983. Freight All Kinds debt-free, and enjoy a great reputation in the industry among its customers, vendors, and the industry in general. 2. FAK is a multi-faceted and diversified woman-owned asset-based transportation company, has a vibrant 3PL component with a very large contracted carrier base, and also enjoys an intermodal division with contracts with all of the major railroads and intermodal drayage companies throughout the US. 3. FAK has a nationwide footprint of offices, terminals and transportation coverage, with over fifty offices throughout our network - both Agent-operated and Employee-operated. Plus, FAK offers a 24-hour 7-day Dispatch capability which ensures that our shippers' loads are under constant scrutiny by our operations group. 4. FAK carries $250, 000 of primary cargo insurance on the trucks it operates under its two operating authorities, Freight All Kinds, Inc, MC-095084 and FAK Logistics, Inc. MC-516491. Under its operating authorities, we offer reefers, drop-decks, flatbeds, specialized hauling, over-dimensional, and power-only capabilities. If our own trucks are not available, our customers always have the option of using our 3PL capabilities utilizing carriers under lease to us. 5. FAK carries $200, 000 of contingent cargo insurance on our 3PL business, which stands behind the contracted carrier's primary insurance coverage. This gives our 3PL customers two levels of cargo insurance coverage to rely on. Many carriers have insufficient cargo insurance, or worse yet, self-insure, which puts the shipper at risk of having inadequate cargo coverage. Further, many 3PLs forgo this additional contingent coverage, opting to let their customer bear more risk. FAK goes the extra mile and bears this expense, giving the customer great value and peace of mind - more reasons to trust FAK with your freight. 6. FAK carries a $100, 000 Surety Bond for our 3PL customer's peace of mind. This is ten times what the law mandates that a 3PL firm have in effect, but we are confident enough in our business practices and our financial strength to put this in place. 7. FAK contracts with Comdata Corporation allowing us to give money for fuel advances, repairs, and to quickly pay the freight bills to our 3PL contracted carriers. This is a very costly contract to have in place, since FAK must pay Comdata immediately while FAK waits to be paid by its customers. Many 3PLs and carriers do not have this capability in place, limiting their ability to handle their business properly, and putting the shipper's freight in peril when those inevitable issues arise. 8. FAK uses a mix of its own trucks it operates and its extensive supply of contracted carriers on its customers' loads, whatever yields the best transportation solution that meets the customer's needs. FAK's customers can take solace in the fact that FAK has a very detailed and thorough vetting process before approving a contracted carrier. This process includes the carrier having to submit a signed FAK carrier contract, proof of valid DOT Operating Authority, proof of valid and sufficient General Liability and Cargo insurance, proof of an acceptable DOT safety rating, and a valid Taxpayer ID number. FAK then verifies all of those submissions through several outside independent means to ensure that the submissions are valid. Only after this vetting process is complete is a carrier approved to be an FAK contract carrier.
