- About Us : GEOHELLAS BRIEF SUMMARYGeohellas S.A. headquartered in Athens, Greece, is a young technical clays company established for the purpose of developing the largest attapulgite and saponite deposits in Europe. Following an extensive research and land acquisition campaign, Geohellas controls the deposits in full. The ongoing drilling and mapping program has already proved reserves in excess of 20,000,000 MT.Geohellas modern processing plant is located adjacent to the mines near the city of Grevena in Northern Greece, to facilitate integrated production (mining, processing, packaging). Selective mining is performed in three different mines. Processing capabilities involve natural drying, pre-crushing, extrusion, crushing, drying/thermal activation, screening/sizing, milling and classification. Packaging capabilities are versatile and range from large big bulk bags to small open mouth type bags. The plant has an annual production capacity of 100,000 MT, with design accommodation to double in a short time period. Operations and sales commenced in late 2004 giving primary emphasis on technical products. Most of the products are exported to GEOHELLAS S.A.stern and Eastern Europe, Russia, Middle East and the greater Mediterranean region.Products include, agrochemical carriers, animal feed supplements, bleaching earths used in the refining of edible oils and paraffins, cat litters (both high quality traditional lightweight absorbent, as well as premium clumping cat litters) additives in construction products, technical products for environmental applications, free flow and anti caking additives, gelling/suspension aids, industrial absorbents, binders in molecular sieves/synthetic zeolites, soil conditioners and others.As part of the ongoing process of raising the quality of our products, services and activities, Geohellas has established a quality management system to guarantee consistently excellent quality. This system conforms to the new ISO 9001/2008 norms, as certified by Germanischer Lloyd. Moreover, Geohellas has been accredited with ISO 9001:2008/HACCP by Germanischer Lloyd for the production of the animal feed supplements.Finally, we would like to stress our commitment to continuous research and product innovation, as well as our flexibility to serving our clients needs, stemming from our Grevena plants modular design and our rich clay deposits.
