Golden Honey is a 60 year old family business based in Kefallonia, the biggest of the seven Greek islands in the Ionian Pelagos, Golden Honeyst of Greece. Kefallonian Honey is a raw, pure, natural and unfiltered thyme honey of high quality. Carefully collected from our own 300 beehives accross the flower fields and hills of our beautiful island, where wild thyme and fragrant herbs are grow in abundance. In order to obtain the highest quality of our products, Golden Honey has obtained ISO 22000-2005 & HACCP Certifications, meeting all requirements and standardization and is in total compliance with the international food regulations.Our pure honey of excellent quality and taste is harvested by hand using traditional methods, from late spring until late autumn. It is extracted cold and is unfiltered to ensure the beneficial properties of the nectar and pollen remain. Free of preservatives or chemical additives, in various packaging. It is enriched with thyme, as well as with wild herbs that grow in the mountain of Kefallonia such as:- Erica carnea- Oregano- Sage- Lavender- Salvia tribolaPure and unprocessed honey may crystallize. Crystallization is triggered by naturally occurring pollen and trace elements in the honey. Crystals will melt if you simply place the honey jar in a bowl of warm water.Honey has been valued by the Greeks since ancient times, both as a food and medicinal source.
