- About Us : GONZALEZ OBSIDIAN family business which owns over two square miles of an obsidian mountasin for use as an open pit type obsidian mine in Mexico. As you know obsidian is an excellent raw material for manufacturing rock-wool or mineral wool products. We would be open to negotiate for production of raw obsidian to be shipped from Mexico for your operations or for the sale of the mineral rights for the obsidian on the land. If you are interested in the latter you should know that the land is serviced by two roads and has water running through it. The property does not have electricity available. We estimate that the land has over 2,000,000 tons of easily accessible obsidian. If you are interested in either option we are ready to talk.
