• About Us : The Group was founded in the year 1900, when the first Polish immigrants arrived to Misiones. They settled in Apostoles, a city located 60 Km. south of Posadas, the capital city of Misiones.In 1917 the first hectare of Mate was planted and in 1936 began the industrialization of this product. The expansion was low because at that time there Grupo Amandare no roads, plantation was prohibited and so on.The opening of new roads in the 70's, authorization of new plantations in the 80's and the total opening of this economy in the 90's, brought a new dynamic to the mate industry.So, in few years, Amanda went from 5.300.000 Kg. to 18.000.000 Kg. Today the total output is 32.000.000 Kgs.The investigation, new technology in production, homogenization, grinding, packaging and a commercial dynamic made possible this growth.Regarding to rice, this product was very important to consolidate the firm in the 70's. Today it represents 9 % of the company's turnover.In the year 1995 the company decided to work the honey market and created the firm Nutrimiel S.A.In 1996, Amanda do Brasil was established as a strategic move due to the overproduction of Yerba Mate in Argentina.And finally, in 1997, Industrias Alimenticias del Plata S. A. was created in order to gain new markets in a country (Uruguay) where the consumption of Yerba Mate is the highest of the world (7Kgs./per capita/year).
