- About Us : <br> <br>Carbon electrode paste <br />Carbon electrode paste is a mixture of calcined petroleum coke and coal tar pitch. It is manufactured by processing calcined petroleum coke. The calcined petroleum coke(cpc)is crushed, screened, and ground in a ball mill and stored separately in different size fractions. Various size fractions of cpc are preheated and then mixed with molten coal tar pitch to form carbon electrode paste. Coal tar pitch is used as a binder to the electrode so that the solid paste can flow and form the electrode of the shape desired after it is charged into the reduction furnace/cell. Carbon paste plants are fully automated and the production process is controlled centrally from the control room. Carbon electrode paste is used by the aluminum industry, ferro-alloy industry and calcium carbide industry as an electrode in energy intensive furnaces or reduction cells.
