- About Us : Brief history of the Odessa machine-tool builder "InStankoService"It has been developed historically that Odessa was one of the main machine-tool building centre in the former USSR. The parent enterprises of the Soviet machine-tool industry specialized in CNC machines and robot-building "InStankoService" Ltd.re based in Odessa ("Kirov" plant, "Micron", "Vega", research institute Temp, research institute "Shtorm", research institute "Almaz" etc). And the first CNC machines in the former USSR were developed and manufactured in Odessa. Therefore after the collapse of the Soviet Union Odessa retained a strong scientific and production basis that allowed to develop and produce the CNC machines. The Odessa machine-tool builder "InStankoService" started its work in 1992 when the first drafts of the future equipment were drawn and the first lines of the programs that are used today in our modern machines were written. At that time the company was called The Odessa engineering centre. Those were the times when the drafts were drawn with a pencil and there were no CAD programs and no Internet, the times when the main computers were the "ES-1030", "ES-1060" type and occupied the whole rooms. The first programs for the CNC machines were developed for the Soviet processor KP580BM80A (at that time the data was kept on a magnetic tape) and then for the processor Z80 (with the very comfortable at that time five-inch floppy disks) and then by the mid of 90s it was decided to make all the software for the IBM-PC platform. At that time the IBM-PC platform was very actively promoted in our market and today it takes practically 100% of the industrial and commercial computers market. Thus it was a right decision for the development of our company. During the 1992-1999 a great work was done in the area of creating the modern control systems for the CNC mills. The work was carried out together with the several research institutes and plants in Odessa. Several experimental machines were made. They were used to work through and debug the developed CNC systems. The first commercial machine was produced in 1999 and put into operation in 2000 in Odessa advertising firm "Sign-Service". It was a "M1" model machine and it was the first CNC mill in the south-east of Ukraine that was put into operation in the furniture and advertising enterprises. And it was the first CNC mill of the light series made in the CIS and put into commercial and not experimental use. The modern machines are the fourth generation of the first commercial machine, not counting the experimental ones in 1992-1999. When we make new models we take into account all the experience of making the previous ones. Today the most popular CNC mill produced by the Odessa machine-tool builder "InStankoService" is model "ATS-2112.Pro". Many enterprises in Ukraine and the CIS use this particular model in their furniture, advertisement and construction business.
