• Company Name : Jefferson Minerals Corp.
  • About Us : My associate, Rauno Perttu, and I have been assembling Bentonite and barite properties in the Jefferson Minerals Corp.stern United States and Canada for the past 3 years under various private companies which we control. We feel that now is an excellent time to go to market, both in North America and abroad. After studying the Roskill Report (2005) on Bentonite, it became apparent that the only known deposits similar to ours are on the island of Milos, which is held by your firm. Our Oregon property contains high-quality beds of calcium Bentonite, calcium-potassium Bentonite, sodium Bentonite and calcium/sodium Bentonite which appear to be unmatched in purity in North America. The deposit also contains a large bed (1-5M tons) of very high quality beidellite. The beds are from 50 to 200 feet thick, typically with from one to five feet of overburden. When we first acquired the Oregon deposit, we commissioned an independent NI 43-101 report to be done on the property based on the drilling and testing data provided. The reserves were pegged at 48M tons proven,100M tons indicated, and the inferred tonnage was not calculated. We have since expanded the site and now feel that the main body of ore is in the neighborhood of 200M tons with another 75-100M tons projected in the expanded claim blocks. This property has a major mining and transportation cost advantage to West Coast markets. It is our intention to begin construction of a clay processing facility in the spring of 2007. We plan to produce and ship a superior quality clumping pet litter, foundry clay, and drilling mud, and to expand into agricultural and environmental products. Because of our close proximity to the major ports along the lower Columbia River, we can actually ship products to, for example, New York less expensively than the larger firms can transport by rail out of Wyoming. Our holdings in the Rocky Mountain region contains a bed of high quality Bentonite that makes a superior drilling mud (approximately 60 million in-place tons of which approximately 15 million tons are mineable). A second associated Bentonite bed appears to be excellent for foundry clay and as pet litter. This second bed has similar reserves to the first. If your firm is interested in expanding your Bentonite operations and markets in North America and abroad, we would be interested in exploring the various opportunities which may exist between our companies.
