The company was registered with the Registrar of Companies under Registration No. 2167dated 7th July 1994. The company has a license to gemstones and diamond cutting and polishing and exporting. The company has a factory set up near International Airport. The aim of the company is to establish and promote local gems. The object is to export local gems, precious and semi precious both finished and rough to all interested parties all over the world. Nepal being a mountainous region is rich in minerals. Nepal has great potential of gems of many varieties except diamond. "Nepal's" mountains are packed with sapphire like blue kyanite. Kyanite in Nepal is cobalt blue in color and has become famous in the world. But they are mostly marketed via India and many think they are of Indian origin. Kyanite are also available in emerald color. At present, Jewels Nepal is specializing in mining, refining and exporting of Nepal kyanite. We are in the process of acquiring mines and we can provide industrial as well as gem quality kyanite at reasonable rate. We have a set of local experts who have experience in the art of gem and gem stone cuttings. These artisans are all devoted to their profession and have a positive approach to global demands in the field of gemstones. What is kyanite? Kyanite belongs to the class of silicates. Derived from Aluminum silicate, Kyanite is polymorph with mineral andalusite & sillimanite i. E. They have similar chemistry but different crystal structure. Mineral kyanite has typical blue colour & wide variation in hardness, which can be called its unique characteristics. It's hardness may vary from 4-7. 5 in the same specimen crystal. Usually, kyanite found in rocks that are formed in high pressure conditions that is to say metamorphic rocks. Uses of Kyanite Kyanite is used primarily in refractory and ceramic products, including porcelain plumbing fixtures and dinnerware. It is also used in electrical insulators and abrasives. An interesting property of kyanite is that it undergoes an irreversible expansion when fired at high temperature. Kyanite is a major raw material in spark plugs which are electronic device that are used in automobiles. Kyanites are also used in refractory porcelains and platinum alloys of telephone and other wire communication systems due to it high resistance to spark erosion.
