The concept of kala aparajita emerged from voluntary health association's work with artisans in its post disaster programme(orissa& gujarat) and the grassroot projects all over india. Voluntary health association of india Itis a non-profit, registered society formed in 1970. It is a federation of 25 state voluntary health associations, linking together over 4000 member institutions across the country. It is one of the largest health and development networks in the world. The beneficiaries of its programme include rural and urban masses, health professionals, researchers, social activists, and government functionaries and media personnel. Kala aprajita Kala aparajita is an initiative of vhai. It is a development project to strengthen the self initiatives of low income artisan groups by promoting the crafts produced by them. Kala aparajita also enhances their quality of life and at the same time upgrades their skill to produce quality products at reasonable prices. Our mission is to create a meaningful and enduring partnership among the deprived artisans and the discerning consumers. Kala aparajita strongly believes that the creativity of the artisans is exemplified by their strength to keep their art alive inspite of their poverty and deprivation.
