- About Us : Kerla State Palmyrah Products Development and Workers KELPALMlfare Corporation Limited [KELPALM] was Formed in 1985 with an overall objective of developing the palmyrah based industry, its cultivation and thereby improving the economic well being of Palmyrah workers. <br/>Kelpalm has set up two facility centres Kottamam (Neyyattinkara} in Thiruvananthapuram District and kalleppully (Alathur) in palakkad District with its Registered and Corporate office at Nandavanam in Thiruvananthapuram<br/><br/>This is the Corporation was established consequent on the recommendation of the Empowered committee Which examined the report of late Sri.J.S Jesudasan, then Special Secretary (Election & Chief Electron Officer) appointed as Special Officer to examine the feasibility of establishing a palmgur Corporation. The main objects to be pursued by the Company are:<br/><br/>1) To execute scheme for the economic well being of Palmyrah Workers.<br/>2) To establish production centeres, Industrial and marketing units of palmyrah products<br/>3) Palmyrah palm cultivation<br/><br/>The Corporation was registered as a fully Government-owned company on 13 th November 1985 under the Companies Act1956, Shri M. Bhagyanathan Nadar IPS Special officer for the formation of the Company was appointed as the Managing Director in Charge on 20.03.1986. Its first Chairman was Shri.P.G Muralidharan, IAS, Commissioner & Secretary (Industries)<br/><br/> ACTIVITIES & ACHIEVEMENTS<br/><br/>Over these years, the company had set up two-facility centre, one at Kottammam in Trivandrum and the others at Kalleppully in Palakkad District.<br/><br/>In 1991, the Corporation started manufacturing soft drink from it Kottamam Facility Centre. Its products are named as palm Lahar, Palm Syrup and Palm Squash.
