• About Us : <br> <br>Knyazhyi Hrad Prod. and Distribution LLC largest Ukrainian manufacturer of vodka and wine Knyazhyi Hrad Production and Distribution Company LLC was founded in 1997 on the basis of the Kyiv Winery established in 1946. <br />Knyazhyi Hrad Company operates its own production facilities, raw material base, distribution, marketing and promotion agencies. <br />The Company employs 760 full-time employees. It is the owner of such intellectual property as Mernaya, Vinodel, Business-class and Europe trade marks. <br />The Mernaya brand name of vodka has its history dating back to the early 19th century. The great Russian scholar D. I. Mendeleyev who at that time headed the Chamber of Measures and Weights of the Russian Empire experimentally determined the optimal ratio of alcohol and water &＃8211; 40:60. The samples of obtained vodka were presented for tasting to the Academic Council, resulting in a decree that gave 40% vodka its name &＃8211; Mernaya (&＃8220;Standard&＃8221;). Such vodka was delivered to the Imperial Court. In 1931, Mernaya was banned by Bolsheviks as a rudiment of Tsarism. <br />Mernaya vodkas are bottled in 0.2l, 0.5l and 0.7l bottles. A 1l bottle is being designed to enter the markets of Canada, the USA, Latin America and Australia. Commencement of vodka production in such bottles is planned for September, 2004. <br />Products of Mernaya and Vinodel trade marks have won awards and medals at international exhibitions in Russia and Germany.
