- About Us : How Kollen & Kollen. Co got started I stumbled upon the idea for this business while pursuing a hobby, the restoration of classic sports cars. I wanted to add a stereo to an old Porsche, but I couldn't find a local retailer or a mail order company to provide one. Reasoning that there were surely other automobile enthusiasts like myself facing the same problem, I decided to create my own mail order car stereo business. In March of 1998, I started A&L Corporation. What I learned from those surveys saved this business and became the foundation for our success. Here's what I learned: First, car stereo customers were hungry for know-how about installing this specialized audio equipment. And second, they placed enormous value on customer service. What we believe: A&L Corporation has grown tremendously since those early days, but we haven't forgotten what made--and keeps--us successful: Exceeding the expectations of each one of our customers, every day. In bestowing us a gold award for achievement, Catalog Age magazine called us the "King of Service. Our Future I don't have a crystal ball, but I am more excited about A&L's future than I have been at any time since 1998, when I founded the company.
