• About Us : My main company is HD Foodservice Corporations sells foodservice products to restaurants. KSJ Internation Inc buys and sells internationally. Brief History of HD Foodservice Corporation _______________________________________ HD Foodservice is a wholesaler specializing in distributing quality fresh food products to Chinese restaurants in North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. Chinese restaurants consist of 90 percent of KSJ International Inc business. Through intensive family contact and market research, we have determined that the Central East region has a great market potential for HD Foodservice. The number of oriental restaurants in the area is growing, as more and more Americans are accepting Chinese food. HD Foodservice will be the tenth foodservice facility for our family-owned business, through out the country. Other foodservice facilities are located in Chicago, Indianapolis, Pittsburgh, Atlanta and Los Angeles. Each facility serves as a support for inventory supplement, with some common ownership. The Company HD Foodservice is formed due to demands of current customers distributed by our other locations in Pittsburgh and Atlanta. Winston-Salem is chosen because it is located in the center, between Pennsylvania and Georgia. HD Foodservice manages to utilize the full potential of their employees. All of our sales are done over the phone with three in-house sales reps. We save the labor cost of hiring outside sales rep's. The salary of our sales rep's are based on commission, and this encourages the sales dept to sell high profit margin products. Their salary will be deducted if the customer does not pay on time. HD Foodservice also gets to save labor cost on account receivable department by doing this. After the sales are done the loading crew comes in at midnight and loads the truck until sunrise. The same crew also comes back to clean and organized the warehouse in the afternoon. The warehouse keeper is left behind to off load products and to rotate the old with the new during the day. The Product Since our company is able to buy in bulk directly from the processing plants at a truckload quantity we are able to obtain a higher markup and higher return. We specialize in perishable goods, canned goods, famous brands and private label items. Products are gathered across the globe to make this a one-stop shop for the restaurant order list. Suppliers like Perdue, Gold Kist, Townsend, and Case Farms supply us with all different kinds of chicken parts and cuts. Adm supply us with commodities items like flour, sugar, and oil. Lee Kum Kee from Hong Kong ships us a container load of oyster sauce every two months. Rice mill from Thailand ships us containers of Jasmine rice every month to keep the rice with the new crop. There are also canned goods coming from China that are mixed to even out the cash flow from the slow selling items. HD Foodservice also deals with a few companies in New York for back up and fill-in from containers not arriving on time.
