All the production was home made type, and the raw materials came exclusively from the district farmers. At the time the main activity was the production of milk and butter for the inhabitants of the city of Lamego.As time went by, the manufacturing of cheese started to dominate the production and today is an exclusive activity.Lacticinios do Paiva, S.A. is characterized by the bet on the equipment modernisation in order to keep up with the sanitary requirements and market trends, broadening the range of products always placing the label Paiva in all of then. Lacticinios do Paiva, S.A. is today an important pole for the social and economical development of the country, gathering the milk of more than 800 producers.
