• About Us : LANATEX S. A., is located in Uruguay, South America. Since 1989 LANATEX SA have dedicated ourselves to the commercialization of lamb and sheepskins, uninterruptedly. At present, our company is a leading exporter of Uruguayan skins to the most demanding markets of the world. We buy high quality raw lamb and sheepskins (machine flayed) from selected slaughterhouses to ensure that our customers receive a consistent supply of products that matches their requirements. We process about 1 million skins per year (70 per cent of the total of Sheepskins production of Uruguay) , and are considered the most professional skins exporters of Uruguay, a country which is renowned for its excellent sheep production. We process and export lamb and sheepskins, either in dry or drum salted preservation, suitable for the production of garments, nappa, double face, shoe lining, seat covers, etc. On very competitive prices. We have made a very important investment in the field of the preservation process of the skins, installing a model industrial plant of drum salted in order to produce a superior quality and standardization product, according to the higher demands of the worldwide market. For that purpose, we have strongly invested not only in the technological area, importing special mixers adjusted for the salting process, but in the chemical area too, obtaining an optimum preservation formula. We use Kiln dry salt with a standard grain, fungicides and bactericides, which guarantee the superior quality, needed for the long lasting preservation of the skins. The special care we take in this formula, gives our clients around the world the necessary confidence when buying our skins. Our skins are being permanently monitored in laboratories, making tests and quality samples in demanding situations of temperature and moisture. We have incorporated software to our new skins classification system, in order to have a follow up from the slaughterhouses to the export packing, which guarantee the exact selection chosen by the client and assuring the standardization and specifications previously agreed. The final result of all this effort is a product which gathers the highest quality demands, that starts with the careful removal of the skins in the slaughterhouses, passing through all the steps of trimming, drum salting, draining, selection, packing and later exportation. To achieve this, besides the above mentioned we count with a human team of professionals in every area, not only in the industrial but in the logistic too.
