The company was the first manufacturer to offer a Sony NP77-style replacement battery. In the late 1980s Lenmar began to focus on providing a full range of rechargeable battery solutions. In 1992, Lenmar introduced the technologically advanced NoMEM battery. It was the first 8mm and VHS-C camcorder battery that could be charged and discharged at any level without developing the memory effect that shortens battery life. The success of the NoMEM camcorder battery LED to Lenmars entry into the cellular telephone battery market in 1995, followed by the laptop computer battery market in 1996. Lenmar continues to enhance its NoMEM battery line. The company LED the market in 1996 with its NoMEM nickel metal hydride(NiMH) technology. In 1998 Lenmar was first to offer NoMEM Lithium Ion(Li-Ion) batteries for camcorders and cellular phones. In 1999, Lenmar introduced Chargeables rechargeable alkaline batteries, the cost-effective, environment-friendly replacement for disposable AA and AAA alkaline cells. In 2000 the company introduced its NoMEM PRO NiMH AA and NoMEM PRO Beltpaks for digital cameras and other high-drain devices. 2001 saw Lenmar unveil its proprietary Mach1 SpeedCharger, a revolutionary charger that charges Li-Ion camcorder and digital camera batteries three times faster and more efficiently than traditional chargers. The product won the prestigious CES Innovations Award in 2002. The Mach 1 uses patented NeoTherm technology to deliver the maximum energy to the battery while significantly extending battery life. Lenmar has recently been honored with its second successive CES Innovations Award(2003) for the Mach 1 based on applying its breakthrough patented technology to 3.6 Volt applications, thus meeting the needs of the rapidly expanding digital camera market, while creating the smartest and coolest ultra-fast charger on the market today.
