The system was developed at the Massechusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Centre for Innovation in 1981, as am alternative to traditional double glazing in that existing windows or doors can be used, rather than discarded and replaced.Magnetite's retrofit double galzing system has been independently tested by the Australian Window Association, by the National Acoustic Laboratories and by BRANZ, which all show a world class performance for noise and thermal insulation.Enhancements to the system include window films, sliding doors, the Easy Glide for windows and magnetic flyscreens.
