- About Us : <br> <br>The Cooperative of Avia, one of the oldest in Greece, was founded in 1924 and has been certified to produce the unique Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) 'Kalamata' AVIA Extra Virgin Oil according the European Union Law 210/2006 and the ministerial decision of national recognition 379567/20-08-1993. Market Plus Co cooperative situated 10 km from Kalamata, on the eastern side of MessinianBay in Mani. We produce, standardize, sell and export only extra virgin olive oil. <br /> <br />We use natural method to produce the pure juice of the olive without additives. Also we use continuous daily strict quality controls, certified according to ISO 22000:2005 (HACCP), ISO 9001:2008, fully guarantee the quality and the taste of out olive oil. <br /> <br />All processing equipment is of the latest technology and storage tanks are made of stainless steel. The olives (koroneiki variety), freshly picked from the trees, are pressed in low temparatures to keep their beneficial properties intact. Our extra virgin oil with low acidity (0,1% - 0,5%) and superior quality has been awarded in international awards (gold metal in Thessaloniki International Fare and by the silver metal Great Taste Awards 2006). Our annual production is approximately 700 tons extra virgin olive oil. <br /> <br />Since November 1993, the Ministry of Argiculture in Greece, acknowledged our cooperative as producer of SUPERIOR QUALITY OLIVE OIL known throughout the word as KALAMATA EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL and having met all the following conditions: <br /> <br />No use of chemicals for the control of the insect, DACUS OLEA, and so, no remains of chemical are found in the olive oil produced. <br /> <br />The olive oil produced is COLD PRESSED, thus all its natural goodness is kept intact. <br /> <br />All machinery in our factory, including all storage tanks are made of stainless steel.<br><br>
