R. had his own trucking company and did business under the name Maxwell Truck Lines. He sold his trucking company and opened the doors to Capital Trailer & Equipment Co.Inc. back in 1955. The company started as a trailer manufacturing facility then down the road, son of W. R. Maxwell, Billy Maxwell Jr., took over and moved the company more into the parts & service business which later evolved into a parts & service warehouse distributor (WD). Selling and delivering parts all over the State of Alabama. Then in the early nineties, a third generation of Maxwell's took the wheel. They acquired the Volvo Truck franchise changing the name to Capital Volvo Truck & Trailer.
