There is all low pressure type, which are mounted vertically & horizontally. These are available in m.s/s.s. 304/s.s. 316 /p.p./c.s. and pressure rating 10 kg/cm&Atilde;ƒ??&Atilde;ƒ?&Atilde;‚&Acirc;&sup2;. Tubular sight glasses find application in chemical, pharmaceutical, food and allied industries where visual monitoring of fluid flow is essential. A sight glass is made up of a metal frame, a glass pipe section from borosilicate glass - 3.3 expansion and two pairs of PTFE bushes and washers. The borosilicate glass offers very high resistance to corrosion and great thermal strength and resistance to thermal shock. The metal frame is completely welded construction of flanges and tie rods eliminating transfer of stresses and vibrations of pipeline to the glass pipe section. A metal check nut keeps the glass pipe section under uniform compression and provides ease of replacement of glass pipe section in situ. These units are all low pressure tube type sight flow indicators and although best adapted to vertical pipe lines, they can be installed horizontally as well.
