The company has seven production facilities in China, as OLaughlin Industries Co Ltdll as facilities in Brazil and the United States. O’Laughlin is one of leading producers worldwide of synthetic and natural aroma chemicals for use in fragrances and flavors. It is also a major producer of certain sugar-free sweeteners, food and cosmetic ingredients, plant extracts and essential oils. Its products are sold in major world markets, including North America, Europe and Japan, as well as China. O’Laughlin is a privately owned company established in 1980 by its owner and chief executive Michael O’Laughlin, when he moved to Beijing, China and established a small office. Since then it has grown to be an important world class producer of chemicals, with significant production facilities in China and other countries, and distribution and sales worldwide. O’Laughlin’s largest factory, located in Tianjin, in northern China, and produces ethylene brassylate, acrolein chemicals, as well as a number of other aroma chemicals. It also produces extracts and essential oils. A facility at a separate location in Tianjin produces polyol sugar free sweeteners for use in sugar free confections and foods. A second factory located in central Jiangsu Province (north of Shanghai) produces a range of allyl esters, natural chemicals, as well as a range of synthetic aroma chemicals. O’Laughlin’s facility in Kunshan (west of Shanghai) produces a range of fine chemicals using various chemistries. It also engages in various other functions including spray drying, crystallization, as well as research and development and centralized quality control functions. A fourth facility located in Guangxi Province in southwest China is concentrated on production of turpentine derived aroma chemicals and natural products. A fifth factory located in Shenzhen (across the border from Hong Kong) and is engaged in distillations and fragrance compounding, as well as sourcing, quality control and research and development. O’Laughlin’s factory established in the nationally chartered Nantong Chemicals Development Zone outside of Shanghai, produces both aroma chemicals and chemicals for personal care products. A facility in Shanghai produces seasonings, while factories in Brazil and United States make seasonings and compounds respectively. O’Laughlin also has contract and joint production relations with various factories in China for specialized production needs. O’Laughlin also has production and research in North America, and production in South America, for selected products areas.</p>
