- About Us : In 1995, PICARD Lederwaren GmbH Co. & KG entered into a joint venture agreement and established Picard Bangladesh Limited. The plant is at Kondolbagh under Savar, approximately thirty Kilometers north of Dhaka. The Total space of Factory premises is about 66, 000 square feet of which the plant stands on 22, 000 square feet. There are separate buildings for Security personnel and a guest room for the officials. The plant has all sorts of machineries required for a complete leather goods manufacturing unit. There are 10 cutting machines, 60 sewing machines (plain machine, cylinder bed, post bed etc.) , 11 skiving machine, 4 edge dye machine, 1 ink drying machine. Store with de-humidifiers to preserve leathers and metal accessories. PoPicard Bangladesh Ltdr failure is managed by using two standby generators, each capable of supporting the whole factory at full capacity. During the last ten years we have developed a skilled team of 600 dedicated workers; and they lives within walking distance from the factory; which is another advantage over any political disturbance and natural calamities. The company produces and trades world-class leather handbags for the brand PICARD using the top quality leathers of Bangladesh. 70% of the products are ladies handbags. The rest are Briefcases, Luggage bags, Small Leather Goods (SLG) and promotional items (Corporate Gifts. ) As being 100% export oriented company we have to compete globally. The advantage over our competitors is that, we procure about 90% of raw materials from the local resources that enables us to compromise the lead-time. Only lack is the metal accessories; which contribute only 5% -10% of a complete bag, which are sourced from Hong Kong and Italy. By Ensuring Quality Management System we have achieved ISO 9002: 1994 and ISO 9001: 2000, which is internationally recognized.
