However, once the drug is absorbed peak plasma level can occur in 2-4hours. The plasma level is seldom greater than1% of the dose administered because of its relatively low solubility. Albendazole is slowly excreted. INDICATION: Albendazole 600mg bolus is a broad spectrum anthelmintic for control of the following type of internal parasites in cattle and camel. Gastrointestinal Roundworms&Lungworms: Abomasal Nematodes: Haemonchus (adults, late and early immature) Ostertagia (adults, late and early immature) trichostrongylus. Lung worms: Dictyocaulus (filarial and vivipara) protostrongylus and muellarius. Tape Worms: Moniezia heavy infestation in young lambs can cause signs of poor growth and a roughness of the wool and hair. Trematodes: Fasciola hepatica, fasciola gigentica and dicrocoelium dendricum. DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION: Dosage: weight dosage Up to 20kg body weight 1/4 bolus of Abendozle 600 (7.5mg/kg) Up to 40kg body weight 1/2 bolus of Abendozle 600 40 -- 60kg body weight 1-1/4 bolus of Abendozle 600 60 -- 80kg body weight 1 bolus of Abendozle 600 REACTION/SIDEEFFECTS: No side effects at the prescribed dosage rate. WARNING AND PRECAUTIONS; CONTRAINDICATIONS: Albendazole at the fluke level dose to ewes should not be dosed during tupping and for one month after the rams are removed. Pregnant ewes have shown teratogenic effects during the 2nd, 3rd and 4th week of gestation so it is contraindicated and should not be prescribed in first month of pregnancy.
