- About Us : Shortly after incorporation in the fall of 2006, the three Lewis Chemical Company founders walked into an empty warehouse on Sycamore St. in Rome. Today that 40,000 sq. ft. facility is a bustling manufacturing enterprise that ships specialty chemicals nationally and internationally. An additional 20,000 sq. ft. leased in August, 2010 to accommodate finished goods shipping and warehousing services was expanded to ~90,000 sq. ft. at year end 2011. Over the first five years of operations, Lewis Chemical employment grew to a total of 30 including manufacturing personnel, degreed chemists and an office staff distinguished by their commitment to excellence in customer service.
