Briefly about myself, I am the Chief Executive Officer and Principal Consultant of UM3 Business Solutions. With fifteen years of multi-industry and multi-cultural work experience across the USA, ASEAN and the Middle East regions, I have a crucial level of industry knowledge. My background features leadership roles at Senior Management levels for numerous MNC&acirc;€™s and Government organizations including Engro Foods Ltd. (Pakistan), Akzo Nobel (Pakistan), Dubai Development & Investment Authority (UAE), Asia Pulp & Paper (China, Indonesia & UAE), Packages Ltd. (Pakistan) and GLAST (USA). I have successfully managed a sweeping range of key projects, ranging from development of numerous business strategies, implementation of projects all the way from concept development to launch, set-up of business operations in over-seas markets, formation and management of compliance and forensic functions within organizations as well as experienced in leading the procurement, logistics, warehousing and business development functions in the FMCG industry. I have worked with McKinsey & Company in Indonesia as a client team member and have successfully implemented their Mill Improvement Program, focused on reducing costs and increasing efficiencies. I have also successfully devised, socialized and launched cost reduction initiatives in organizations within Pakistan as well as abroad. I have a proven track record of delivering revolutionary solutions helping corporates meet their growth objectives. I am a Gold Medalist Mechanical Engineer and hold a Master&acirc;€™s degree in Management Science & Engineering from Stanford University, USA. A summary of some of my key projects is as follows: 1) UM3 Business Solutions (Feb 2013 &acirc;€“ Current) Client: Engro Foods Ltd. &acirc;€&cent; To develop the comprehensive sea-food feasibility study / business plan for Engro Foods 2) Engro Foods Ltd. (May 2011 &acirc;€“ Feb 2013) a) Developed the 2020 Business Strategy of Engro Foods Ltd. b) Developed the comprehensive Red Meat & Poultry Business Plan for Engro Foods &acirc;€&cent; It includes a thorough study of the animal landscape of Pakistan, a comprehensive margin analysis of the meat value chain, consumer & channel review, processing evaluation, animal sourcing model, local and export sales potential, synergies with donor organizations such as USAID to source project funding, identifying and engaging potential local and global acquisition / JV partners, financial projections, potential risks that can be faced and the strategy to move forward. c) Lead the project to conduct a global search to bring-in an alternate packaging supplier to break the monopoly of the existing market leader in Pakistan. Identified a potential packaging format from Sweden, conducted a thorough technical and economic evaluation and comparison of the new format with the existing packaging, visited customers using this new format in China, visited the production facilities in China and Sweden, negotiated the prices and other terms and conditions and finally closed the deal that lead to a successful launch of the premium brand of the company in the new format 3) ICI Pakistan (Akzo Nobel) (Jan 2008 - Apr 2011) a) Lead the DIFOT Improvement Program and increased the score from the 2008 average of 21% to 85% in 2009 and then 93% in 2010 b) Developed the comprehensive Site Strategy of the ICI Paints business in coordination with the regional head office in Singapore c) Conducted a study on the global Soda Ash industry and devised a strategy to become a regional Soda Ash player d) Coordinated the Paints and Soda Ash business 5 year strategy formulation exercise e) Set-up the Compliance department from scratch, developed procedures and made the department functional with monthly reporting to management 4) Dubai Industrial City (DIC) (Oct 2005 - Sep 2007) a) Lead the formation of Dubai Industrial Academy (a vocational training institute) as a Project Manager &acirc;€“ (Concept Plan to Launch). b) Assisted in the JV for Dubai Recycling Park and appointed as the Project Manager to realize the project through all phases. c) Conceptualized launched and leased the &acirc;€œDIC Automobile Cluster&acirc;€. d) Project Manager for the study of Sewage Treatment Plant at DI. Negotiated with partners on the most optimal financial model for the project (BOT, DBOOT, etc.). e) Project Manager for the Dubai Steel Mill Study conducted by WS Atkins of UK. 5) Asia Pulp & Paper (UAE / Indonesia / China) (Aug 2002 - Oct 2005) a) Developed the business plan for the Middle East Tissue Paper operations. Was sent to the Dubai office from Indonesia as the Middle East Operations / Business Manager to implement my recommendations b) Worked as a client team member with McKinsey & Co. in the Mill Improvement Program in Indonesia c) Worked as a client team member with McKinsey & Co. in Indonesia to develop a global product strategy. d) Conducted a market research of the Pakistan Paper Market. e) Lead a study to identify the issues in the sales of the Tissue Paper operations of APP China.</p>
