- About Us : The public limited company WICO B. G. M. has more than seventy years of experience in the manufacture of zip fasteners. In 1931 Erich Wittenberg and Herman Duchrow established company Erich Wittenberg & co. , as a two-man company which produce zip fasteners. The company is now located in the north of the Czech Republic near the German border in Decin. Wico has become an internationally recognised trademark (Erich Wittenberg & co) . Metal zip-fasteners Wico B. G. M. Inc.re initially produced by hand. In 1933 five automatic Nagele machines were imported from Berlin and the mechanisation of production began. In 1945 the company was nationalised and renamed Koh-i-noor Decin National Enterprise. The company used the name Koh-i-noor Decin until 1991. The company went through a number of changes and was modernised during its post-war development. The most significant turn of events was the introduction of galvanisation in 1972 and production of a new type of spiral zip-fastener in 1974. In the seventies, WICO`s range of products was diversified into other areas of metal production. Production of tools and spare parts began along with the continued production of traditional zip-fasteners. Since 1999 WICO B. G. M. has been a subsidiary of B. G. M. Holdings. This holding company has modernised WICO`s machinery and technology for the production of zip fasteners, as well as for metal production. Now WICO is happy to offer a wide range of products.
