- About Us : The Engineering Materials Development Institute (EMDI) is one of the 6 development Institutes in the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) of the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology, Abuja, Nigeria. Engineering Materials Development Institute develop new products, processes and systems from raw materials to finished engineering materials for industrial use and transfer the technology to the small and medium scale enterprises for mass production. We have developed rotary furnaces for metal processing and operate a R& D scale twin-pole induction furnace. We are developing a new polymer electronics laboratory for the fabrication of plastic based solar cells and OLEDs while conducting R& D work in other areas of materials in collaboration with university professors. We provide materials characterisation and testing service to researchers at our Advanced Materials Laboratory. Web are presently upgrading all our machines to CNC types for better precision products.
